Passing of Dr. Jay Fitzgerald

The nursery industry lost a great man last week. Dr. Jay Fitzgerald was an Emeritus Professor at UNL, specializing in ornamental horticulture, landscape ecology and design. He was also the statewide floriculturist and appeared many times on the Backyard Farmer program. Jay was the initiator and wrote the test for NNLA’s Nebraska Certified Nurseryman program. Emerald Ash Borer – Informational Meetings

Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) has been found in Nebraska. Currently Cass, Dodge, Douglas, Sarpy and Washington counties are under state and federal EAB quarantine.
