Stormwater Management Training

The City of Lincoln is hosting a FREE stormwater management training event for landscape professionals on Tuesday, February 23 at the Lincoln Children’s Zoo. Attend one (or both) for FREE, the cost is subsidized by the City of Lincoln, Public Works & Utilities, WaTrainingtershed Management Division.

Part I:  Green Infrastructure: Stormwater Practices that Infiltrate!

8:30 am – 12:00 pm

Learn the latest in green infrastructure practices that capture and treat stormwater and can act as aesthetically pleasing landscaping features as well! Practices include rain gardens, enhanced rain gardens, bioretention cells and bioswales, soil quality restoration, native landscaping and native turf, green roofs and permeable pavers.

Part II: Inspection and Maintenance of Stormwater Practices Certification Program

12:45 pm – 4:45 pm

Stormwater practices need inspection and maintenance services to ensure they continue to function properly and look good. Learn when and what to inspect and how to maintain green infrastructure stormwater practices. Successful passing of an exam at the end of Part II is required for Certification.

Lunch will be provided to those who register for both Part I & II.

The City of Lincoln recommends these Professional Development Hours (PDH) for:

  • Landscapers
  • Landscape Contractors
  • Landscape Designers
  • Landscape Architects

Whether your company designs, installs or maintains large stormwater BMP projects for new development or smaller projects for individual property owners, attending one (or both) of these courses would be beneficial.
